King and Queen of Pride

King and Queen of Pride applications are available now!

What do Tia Chambers, Shawnna Alexander, Erica Meadows, Dartanyan, and Justin Credible all have in common?  They were all a former or reigning King or Queen of Pride!  Each year, the GLCCB and Baltimore Pride produce the King and Queen of Pride pageant.  The rules have changed slightly over the years but one thing has always remained the same... Kings and Queens of Pride are the reigning symbols of excellence in Baltimore Pride festivities.  They preside at events throughout the year, and represent the GLCCB and Baltimore Pride with honor, grace, and usually a bit of light-hearted humor!

Baltimore's King and Queen of Pride contest will be held at the Hippo on Friday, April 24, 2009.  Doors open at 10:00pm, and the contest starts promptly at 10:30.  Contestants are judged in four categories:  Pride Essay, Pride Formalwear, On-Stage Question, and Talent.  Six judges score them and, in the end, two winners are crowned!

As one of the oldest Baltimore Pride events, King and Queen of Pride is always a great show.  Interested contestants can download an application here.
