One of the oldest Baltimore Pride traditions is the crowning of the King and Queen of Pride at the annual pageant hosted by the Hippo. Claiming this title has become an exciting way for the community to begin the Baltimore Pride season.

Three celebrity judges are joined by two judges drawn randomly from the audience at the beginning of the pageant. These five judges will have the honor of choosing who wins the titles of King & Queen of Pride and represents Baltimore throughout the remainder of the Baltimore Pride season.

Not only will the newly crowned King & Queen of Pride take their place in the Pride Parade and perform on the main stage at the Block Party and Festival, they will also attend all the pre-Pride events to represent Baltimore Pride and muster excitement for Pride weekend. The winners will also have the responsibility of planning next year's King & Queen of Pride pageant!
